Zhangmu in the land-border entry point to and from Tibet and here you are required to fill in a Chinese Customs Declaration Form on which you declare money (cash or traveler’s cheques ), jewellery and precious metals, watches, cameras and lenses, mobile phones, radios and tape recorders. You will receive a copy of the Declaration Form. While leaving Tibet, present the Form to the Customs authorities at Tatopani who are efficient with their formalities and procedures. Regulations forbid antiques unless they have been bought at State-controlled shops which should provide an authorized red-wax seal and a proper receipt of the purchase. |
