Transportation
Modern-day Tibet has good roads, except in the more remote areas where the routes may be rather primitive. However, in the last decade, we have not had any major complaints about road conditions, even up to holy Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar in western Tibet. Our representatives in Lhasa, through the Tibet Tourism Board, provide Toyota 4500 4-wheel drive for 2-4 pax and Chines/Janpan-make mini-buses for more than 4 pax.
There are regular flights between Kathmandu and Lhasa while there are reliable domestic air services within Tibet and also with connection to Beijing and other countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and of course, Hong Kong. |
