Dhulikhel

Serene, scenic and peaceful, Dhulikhel – 30 kilometers east of Kathmandu City- provides it’s own uniquely panoramic perspective of the Himalayas. From here also one can take a short hike to Namobouddha (mentioned above). Nearby is the largish village of Panauti which has some of the finest examples of wood carvings in Nepal. 

There are some excellent hotels at Dhulikhel which have always delighted foreign visitors seeking peace and quiet in a typically Himalayan ambience.
